Our Story that Lead to Hoping to Adopt
While at college, we had a mutual friend who asked if we would be interested in a blind date. We hiked the Y in Provo, Utah for our first date and had such a blast! We started dating soon thereafter, and the rest is history! After we finished college at BYU, we both started working and went on to pursue further education.
Why Adoption?
We have tried having our own children, but even with medical assistance, we have been unable to do so. This has lead us to consider the options we have to grow our family. We feel that adoption is the right path for us.
Get to Know All About Us
We love doing things together. We go hiking in the mountains, or walking along paths in the neighborhood. We also enjoy reading books together, or watching a movie while eating snacks. Cooking new plant-based recipes is a fun past time, especially when we use the vegetables from our garden.
Sam
Sam grew up in Alaska. He has an adopted, older brother and two younger sisters. He is attending graduate school, studying biochemistry. He loves to ask philosophical questions, try new things, and play video games. In his spare time, he listens to audio books, codes video games, cooks dinner, and bakes bread. We cannot attend family dinners without a loaf in hand. He speaks Romanian, which helps him understand many romantic languages.
What Chelsey says about Sam:
Sam is always trying to help others. That was one of the first things that I loved about him. He is an excellent listener and is constantly trying to be better and learn from those around him. He is full of random facts that keep all of us around him learning.
Watching him interact with my family and see how much they love him, has been wonderful to see. I'm so grateful for my Sam.
Chelsey
Chelsey grew up outside the big city, Chicago. She is the oldest of her siblings (two brothers & two sisters) and had lots of babysitting practice. She loves playing instruments and singing. She speaks Spanish and has found a new love of watercolor painting, quilting, and working with clay. When she has free time, aside from her new-found hobbies, she loves to clean! Making things looks neat brings her a lot of joy. Chelsey teaches in an elementary school and has a masters in early childhood education.
What Sam says about Chelsey:
Chelsey is always working hard at everything she can. She is a very kind and loving person, constantly trying to make people feel loved and understood. She uses her skills as a teacher in everything she does, from teaching kids and adults, to helping people work through their problems. She doesn't like sitting doing nothing, and relaxes mainly through cleaning.

Chelsey's Side

With lots of Chelsey's family near-by or visiting often, we have many silly memories from watching movies, taking so many pictures when Daddy says to, having virtual cooking shows, or playing video games together. There are also many instances when we break out into song and dance, while teasing one another mercilessly. Sam has become an older brother and has been designated the wisdom teeth removal caretaker!
Sam's Side

Most of our visits with Sam's family have been more spaced out, due to living further apart. We're grateful more of them live closer now. When we get together, we like playing games, going to an asian grocery store, visiting Barnes and Noble, or just chatting. Sam's brother calls weekly and Sam calls his mom pretty regularly. Sam's sisters are a huge help with home projects. We have all fallen in love with our newly adopted niece and all love hearing her laugh over Peppa Pig.
